Genesis 42:18-43:34
Matthew 13:47-14:12
(1) Christ continues teaching in parables. This thought is with me now: Christ's public teaching in the form of parables which had been the prophecy of Psalm 78 was to address a nation; a tribe; a people:
Listen, O my people...And he speaks in parables of the kingdom.
When he explains "the parable of the sower" it is about "the word of the kingdom".
When he taught about the "wheat and tares"-it was a comparison with the kingdom.
The mustard seed ...the leaven ...the pearl of great price ...the hidden treasure ...the dragnet, these are all about the kingdom.
"When Jesus had finished these parables, He departed from there." (Matt 13:53)
If Psalm 78 was in parables to teach about the wonders, the public wonders, done for a people then is it likely Christ is teaching about new public wonders of what God would do?
“Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes.” 52 And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
